2 El Paso de Robles Pioneer Museum
El Paso de Robles Pioneer Museum in California is one of the finest and the most well preserved museums in the U.S. Take a close look at every piece of object inside and you'll be astounded by the vanity of the old world charm in Paso Robles! Every corner whispers a story of its own as El Paso de Robles Pioneer Museum takes you on a journey back in time.
3 Estrella Warbird Museum
From jeeps, side arms, early year aircraft, fighter jets recently retired from active duty, to antique ambulances, bombadier sites to modern missles, from one of the earliest pilot's licenses issued by the FFA to unique personal items carried into combat during the previous century, from artifacts of airplanes which made aviation history, to piles of parts destined to end up as pieces of a fully restored vintage aircraft, you will find a unique collection of aircraft and artifacts. Preserving the equipment and the memories of those who came before us while preserving a bit of history, we have dedicated the museum to the men and women who are serving, whom have served, and, or sacrificed their life while in the military.
4 Hearst Castle
Hearst Castle is the palatial estate built by newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. It is located near Paso Robles, California, on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Donated by the Hearst Corporation to the state of California in 1957, it is now a State Historical Monument and a National Historic Landmark, open for public tours.
5 Mission San Miguel
Founded on July 25, 1797 by Father Fermin Lasuen, Presidente of the California Mission chain. Named for Saint Michael of Arcangel, it was the 16th mission founded in the 21-mission chain in Alta California. The mission suffered extensive earthquake damage in December 2003, forcing closure of some areas to the public. The museum and gift shop are open.
6 Mission San Antonio de Padua
Located on eighty pristine acres on what was once the Milpitas unit of the sprawling Hearst Ranch, Mission San Antonio de Padua sits within the “Valley of the Oaks” on California’s scenic Central Coast. Founded as California’s third mission in 1771, it has been said that of all the California missions, San Antonio de Padua is the only one that would be recognizable today to its founder Blessed Junipero Serra. The mission and its environs have been truly blessed by its secluded location. Offering visitors a true “look back in time” Mission San Antonio de Padua rewards travelers with peace and tranquility far from the hustle and bustle of our modern world and everyday lives.
